What is PM Surya Ghar Scheme?
PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana aims to provide 300 units of free electricity every month to households that install rooftop solar panels. The scheme provides a central financial assistance (CFA) of up to Rs 78,000 directly to the beneficiary’s bank account.
Who Can Apply?
Any residential household with a valid electricity connection and their own rooftop can apply. Rented tenants need written consent from the property owner.
How Much Subsidy Do You Get?
- 1 kW system: Rs 30,000 subsidy
- 2 kW system: Rs 60,000 subsidy
- 3 kW system: Rs 78,000 subsidy (maximum)
- Above 3 kW: Rs 78,000 (capped)
How to Apply for PM Surya Ghar?
- Visit pmsuryaghar.gov.in
- Register with your mobile number and electricity consumer number
- Fill the online application form
- Upload Aadhar, electricity bill, and bank details
- Select DISCOM-empanelled vendor
- Get installation done within 30 days
- Net meter installed by DISCOM
- Subsidy credited to bank within 30 days
